81 inches

That's the distance from me to the wall that the poop hit this morning at 4AM when Daddy was changing my diaper. Mom was in bed, getting ready to feed me, and she heard Dad say, "oh Jesus" from my room, so she came to look. No details here (I'm a classy guy), but suffice it to say that the whole time I was eating, Dad was cleaning up my room! And he thought he was sooo smart keeping his hand over me so I wouldn't pee on him. Hahahahaha.

We went out to eat last night...it was my first time at a restaurant! It was really only sort-of a restaurant though, because you just order at a counter and then we sat outside. Mom found a cool website called restaurant.com where you can get really cheap gift certificates to local restaurants so that's why we went. I was very good the whole time and I didn't start crying until right at the very end.

I've started to get more excited about noises; I almost always turn my head to look at them. Mom put this rattle thing from my activity center into my hand today and I shook it around a little. More exciting, though, was listening to my CDs that my friend Kara gave me. We listened to 'Here come the ABCs' today and had lots of fun dancing in the kitchen-I love to be held!

...say cheese!

Well, I'm now officially figuring out how to smile. It takes a little coaxing and a big cheesy grin from Mommy to get me to do it, but it's coming along! Unfortunately the folks haven't yet caught this elusive grin on camera, but they're working on it!

I've also started cooing quite a bit, which is pretty fun-I mean a guy needs to communicate. Sometimes I can't remember if I was talking or crying, so then I'll just cry...I've had a lot more practice at that one!

Every morning after I eat I get really active and alert. This is usually when I get to enjoy my activity center. I always lay and kick and pump my arms...I gotta stay toned! Here's a quick video of my morning routine...there's a little coo at the end if you wanna hear.

A wii for the wee one

My friend Dave sent me a Wii to celebrate my birth...he knew how much I wanted one I guess. I have been getting some use out of it, but my coordination is still a little off. Daddy always makes me wear the safety wrist strap when I play, even though I told him it looks dorky.

Today Mom and I are working on cleaning up the garage. The folks bought a deep freezer yesterday so that inspired them to make some space and get everything out there organized. We wanted to get up and go to the farmer's market this morning but it was too rainy, so this week we are going to go pick-our-own strawberries instead! Yum.

Out and about...

I had another good night...I went 4.5 hours at one point between feedings! Dad made Mom a nice breakfast and then we all went for a walk around the 'hood. I did ok but only went about 20 minutes before I needed Mom to hold me for a minute! After that we went out to Easton (the local outdoor mall) together and strolled around outside. Did I mention that I LOOOVE to be outside?

R&R

Daddy finally had his last class at OSU today! He still has finals week, but then he is home and ready to be my daytime Daddy when Mommy goes back to work in a couple of weeks. He has been struggling to stay awake to do homework...something about not getting much sleep at night? Who knows. Anyways, we decided to take a little nap together.

In other news, we went to the Dr again this week. I weigh 12 lbs and am now 23 inches long! She says I'm still doing great and told Mommy and Daddy that breastmilk fat is good fat, so don't think twice about those cute chubby cheeks!

The face of an angel

This is that cute outfit Grandma Wallace gave Mommy at her baby shower. I think I look pretty sweet in it, myself.

Happy Memorial Day!

My friend Rebecca sent me this cute onesie for the 4th of July but I decided to wear it for Memorial Day because Mommy thinks it might be too small by July! What can I say, I'm a hungry guy!
